The first annual Detroit Gatsby Lawn Party takes place in Palmer Park on Sunday, September 13th and will be unlike anything Detroiters have seen in decades. The DGLP is a themed event that celebrates the unique character of Detroit, inviting attendees to step back in time to experience what our city was like at the advent of its most glorious age.
Detroit's rich culture of music, enterprise and diversity will be recreated through Jazz Age family entertainment, a hopping dance floor, Charleston lessons, photos on our Paper Moon, food and merchandise vendors and more. Everyone will be dressed up in styles befitting the 1920s & 30s and everyone attending will be part of creating a living history for all to enjoy.
Planet D Nonet, Zander Michigan, The Whiskey Charmers and Randym Cyrcumstance will entertain you with 1920s jazz and vaudeville. Taste Budz and High Octane food trucks will be on the premises as well as the DGLP Ritz Restaurant tent and Speakeasy featuring the DGLP signature cocktail "The Rumbleseat" - a blood orange bourban sour.
