Harvest Festival October 3, 2020 (tentative) People for Palmer Park presents its free annual Harvest Festival with hayrides through the historic woods; apple tasting, petting zoo, arts and crafts and games for children, and much more. This will be a fun opportunity for all ages to learn about how our food is grown, the lives of farm animals, and nature in the park.
Palmer Park Art Fair CANCELLED FOR 2020 VIRTUAL ART FAIR NOW ONLINE Integrity Shows is reinventing the art fair and reviving a wonderful event from the 1970s and 1980s, while giving Detroit its only large outdoor juried art fair. Installations, street art and demonstrations mix with artists' booths and the park's trees and beauty. We are active partners with People for Palmer Park and encourage local business and residents' involvement in our art fair.
WinterFest: Multi-Cultural Holiday Celebration in the Log Cabin December 6, 2020 (tentative) WinterFest is a free annual community event that encourages families to visit and enjoy the beauty of the park during the colder months. Reopening the Log Cabin in the winter — which has been closed for most of the past 40 years — with this magical and inclusive celebration, will is an enriching and memorable event for all ages.
Log Cabin Day TBA Take a peek! Once a year, for Michigan Log Cabin Day, People for Palmer Park opens the doors of Palmer Park’s 1880's Log Cabin — Detroit’s only authentic log cabin — for a rare tour. Visitors each year have been treated to a day of old-fashioned ice cream socials, live music, square dancing, blacksmithing, hat-making and parade/contests, prize raffles, Civil War camp, and an afternoon of family fun that will reconnect people of all ages to early Detroit memories and history, and aspirations for continued revival.
