Last August, the Palmer Park Dog Park opened and is free for all to enjoy. Located on the south side of Seven Mile Road just west of the 12th Precinct, it was opened in August. Built with funding from the City of Detroit and maintained by the City, the effort to create a dog park in Palmer Park was a community mandate and part of PFPP’s Master Plan for more than a decade. PFPP thanks the Kresge Foundation for awarding PFPP a KIP-D+ grant for community involvement and programming, and helping us present events this year, such as the Doggie Health & Wellness Fair, National Dog Day/Palmer Park Dog Park Birthday on Aug. 25, and the Doggie Halloween Fashion Parade (date to be announced).
